(Senior) Business Development Executive

About your role:

We're looking for a driven Sales professional to grow our Malaysia’s client base through strategic lead generation, client acquisition, and tailored proposal pitching.


You will manage end-to-end sales, from prospecting and closing deals to ensuring smooth campaign execution with internal teams. A key part of the role includes nurturing long-term client relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities while staying ahead of industry trends.


What you will do:

Sales Strategy & Lead Generation

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to drive business growth for TSL Malaysia.
  • Explore creative ways to generate leads, including participation in events and launches to expand our network.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and connect with key decision-makers to secure new business opportunities.
  • Actively prospect, pitch, and convert leads into long-term clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, identify upsell opportunities, and build strong long-term relationships.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring continued trust, satisfaction, and repeat business.

Proposal, Presentation & Negotiation

  • Craft customised proposals that align with client needs and objectives.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to showcase TSL’s value and offerings.
  • Lead negotiations, close deals, and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams, including project management and creative departments, to ensure timely and effective execution of campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Finance to address payment issues and assist clients with related inquiries, ensuring a smooth post-sale experience.

Reporting & Forecasting

  • Prepare accurate sales reports and forecasts.
  • Keep the Head of Sales updated on progress, challenges, and pipeline status.

Market Awareness

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to provide insights that enhance our sales strategy.

A successful candidate should have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, business development, or client servicing, preferably in media, advertising, or digital marketing.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Familiarity with new media, digital publishing, content and social media industry, particularly in Malaysian media landscape.
  • Existing network of contacts within the Malaysian media, advertising, or marketing industry is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in preparing reports, tracking pipelines, and using sales CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, capable of effective negotiation and problem-solving to drive business outcomes.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
