About the role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and maintain our IT infrastructure.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, managing IT inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of company systems and equipment, including cameras, laptops, and other electronic instruments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a stakeholder-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while supporting efforts to enhance IT security and compliance.
What you will do:
- Respond to and resolve incoming support requests via phone, email, or in-person in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues related to hardware, software, network, and peripherals.
- Provide guidance and assistance to users on the use of company systems, software applications, and IT equipment
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware and software
- Assist in the procurement, deployment, and retirement of IT assets across all business units
- Maintenance of Equipment inclusive of repair, refurbishing and salvage
- Conduct regular audits to ensure all assets are accounted for and properly maintained
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network equipment
- Participate in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures
- Office Technical Support Duties not limited to:
- Issuing & Return
- Monthly stocktake
- Planning of inventory refresh life cycles to keep up to date and gathering of hardware/equipment specifications for purchase - Conduct research & development for new hardware, software and developer libraries
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and support activities
- Identify trends in support requests and recommend improvements to reduce recurring issues
- Assist in maintaining the security of IT systems and data
- Support efforts to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Participate in regular security audits and implement corrective actions as needed
- Undertake any other ad-hoc assignments as required

The successful candidate should have:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in IT Support
- Possess or currently studying for a Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of operating systems, software, and hardware, including Windows and Mac OS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to explain technical information to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner
- Able to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Able to manage multiple activities and projects simultaneously
