About the role:

You will work with diverse teams within the business - Content & Sales Teams across TSL regional functions, and Sales & Project Management teams for Influencer Marketing arm.

You will work closely with the CEO to lead all local operations with a strong commercial focus to ensure the company’s continued growth and profitability, and must possess the ability to multi-task depending on which hat you’re wearing, and be an independent problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and high standards of excellence.

You are a leader who has an eye for commercial growth and business operations with the ability to train, motivate and inspire a team. You understand what clients need, and are able to identify the best type of digital content and influencer marketing strategy that will help them achieve their goals. You are familiar with social media platforms and influencer marketing with a track record of internal and external stakeholder management and have success in either publishers or marketing agencies.



What you will do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies to achieve company growth and profitability targets.
  • Client Management: Oversee key client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Working closely with the sales team to develop proposals that align with the client’s overall strategy and objectives. 
  • Operations Management: Optimize internal processes, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Ensuring proposals produced are of the highest quality and in line with company standards and projected margins.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, driving profitability and growth.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business development. Fully understand the external competitive landscape for Malaysia’s new media industry and devise strategies for growth in both readership and customer acquisition
  • Partnership Development: Cultivate and expand relationships with influencers, publishers, and strategic partners.
  • Reporting data and insights to the HQ periodically while staying up-to-date with social and media industry trends, technologies and best practices 
  • Ability to drive regional business strategy

The successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing teams and building relationships with stakeholders to drive performance and growth of the team 
  • Proven experience in a management role within a publisher, media, or influencer agency.
  • Background in the media industry, with proven social media expertise 
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and influencer partnerships.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management abilities.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with business goals.
  • Strong network within the media, publishing, and influencer industries.
  • Native understanding of Malaysian culture & audience
  • Current with the latest news/trends/happenings in Malaysia, and passionate about social media and online content
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively pitch ideas to clients, and check the quality of work from the content teams on an ad hoc basis
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform and optimize campaign strategy
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
