About the role

We are seeking an experienced dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Executive for our team Malaysia. In this role, you will manage all aspects of influencer campaigns, from ideation, to execution, and analysis, ensuring both creative and data-driven decision-making. 

You will also be responsible for overseeing a team of project executives and freelancers, guiding them to deliver campaigns effectively while ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on expertise in influencer marketing and social paid media experience are essential for this role.


What you will do:

  • Drive individual sales responsibilities and revenue achievements
    • Develop proposals with line managers and execute effective sales strategies that align with the company's objectives and contribute to consistent revenue growth.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including key accounts, to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. It involves understanding client needs, resolving complex issues, and ensuring that clients are satisfied and engaged with the company's services.
    • Actively prospecting, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the company's client base.
    • With minimal guidance, be able to execute the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting, negotiating, closing to renewals.
    • Manage all individual sales processes and workflows, including working with internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure accurate and timely sales reporting.
    • Achieve assigned individual sales target including minimum sales engagements (call and meetings).
  • Support to line manager / Management
    • Support line manager / Management in senior sales/management duties, reporting needs etc., where required
    • Maintains a healthy sales pipeline, effectively managing leads, opportunities and sales cycle to maximize conversion rates. Uses CRM diligently to update Management.
    • Ability to lead and drive mid-level/key agency/internal stakeholder relationships and conversations, with strong positive presence and confidence
    • Drive certain internal stakeholder conversations/discussions, where required
    • Any other adhoc support needed by line manager/management
  • Other responsibilities
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
    • Ability to ideate based on standard client briefs, without the need for more than 20% of revisions
    • Able to write clear and concise sales briefs independently according to internal standards
    • Demonstrates creative problem solving skills to address client challenges or objections effectively, finding innovation solutions and turns obstacles into opportunities
    • Uses client insights to drive innovation in sales approach and offerings

The successful candidate should have:

  • At least 3 years' experience working with influencers in Malaysia and across SEA
  • At least 1 year experience managing junior direct reports
  • Familiarity in influencer marketing campaign reporting and analysis, with the ability to educate team members on performance metrics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues
  • Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster a positive, cohesive team environment
  • Has experience managing multiple freelancers across APAC for regional campaigns
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, excelling at multitasking and adjusting to change
  • Organized, detailed, driven and results-oriented, with a focus on exceeding targets, meeting deadlines and setting high personal goals
  • A social media user and familiar with trends on Tiktok, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Understanding of Xiao Hong Shu and Lemon8 is a plus
  • Well-written and spoken English is a must
  • Ability to speak and write in Chinese and/or Bahasa Melayu to undertake simple translation and communicate with regional counterparts
