BD Executive, Advertising Sales

About your role:

We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Executive to drive revenue growth by acquiring new clients, renewing contracts, and expanding business opportunities. 


In this role, you will develop and pitch tailored paid media solutions across The Smart Local Media Group’s platforms, collaborate with internal teams to execute successful campaigns, and build strong relationships with brands, agencies, and key stakeholders. You will also contribute to lead generation, strategic sales planning, market education, and sales reporting while staying ahead of industry trends to identify new opportunities.


What you will do:

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive individual sales and revenue growth through new client acquisition, contract renewals, and business expansion.
  • Develop and customize paid media solutions aligned with the Marketing Funnel and Sales Process to optimize client engagement and conversions.
  • Generate leads via cold outreach, craft media plans, and create campaign proposals, focusing on key client verticals suited for TheSmartLocal (TSL), TSL KOLs, and Telegram Collective.
  • Pitch and sell ad solutions across The Smart Local Media Group’s platforms, collaborating with brands, agencies, and KOL managers.
  • Confidently present and build strong client relationships while actively participating in networking opportunities.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with internal teams to execute successful sales campaigns.
  • Maintain timely and accurate updates of sales reports 
  • Support management with sales pitches, reporting, and key client/agency relationships.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitive insights to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional pitch processes and develop TSLMG credentials with case studies.
  • Drive market education, adoption, and advocacy of TSLMG’s paid media solutions.
  • Perform other sales-related duties as assigned.

A successful candidate should have:

  • At least 2 years of sales or business development experience in a similar industry with a proven track record
  • Excellent understanding of new media, digital publishing, content and social media industry
  • Strong negotiator with a commercial mindset
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior-level executives and decision makers
  • Great people skills, team spirit, have ease in building strong professional relationships and able to work collaboratively and efficiently individually, in and across teams
  • Outstanding multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving abilities, meticulous with a keen eye for detail
