Creative Specialist (Contract - MY)

About the role:

This position will be based in our Malaysia office located in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.


We're looking for a highly creative and strategic Creative Specialist to join our TSL Malaysia team. Beyond creating compelling, high-quality creative, you'll take ownership of creative strategy, identify opportunities to grow audience engagement, and drive creative performance across platforms.


As a senior individual contributor, you'll work closely with the Creative Manager to shape creative direction, uphold creative excellence, and provide guidance to junior producers. You'll also lead larger-scale productions and cross-functional projects while continuously improving our creative quality and production processes.


What you will do:

Creative Creation & Production

  • Lead the end-to-end production of high-quality video content, including pre-production planning, on-site filming, and post-production editing.
  • Take ownership of scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing with strong storytelling, pacing, and attention to detail.
  • Ideate, pitch, and develop creative content concepts that are timely, engaging, and aligned with TSL Malaysia's creative strategy.
  • Ensure all content meets brand, editorial, and production quality standards before publishing.


Creative Strategy & Performance

  • Identify emerging trends, audience interests, and content opportunities to drive audience growth and engagement.
  • Develop platform-specific content strategies across, TikTok, Instagram and other relevant platforms.
  • Analyse content performance using platform analytics and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Continuously optimise content formats, publishing strategies, and storytelling approaches based on audience behaviour and platform updates.


Creative Leadership & Quality Control

  • Review scripts, storyboards, edits, and creative concepts to ensure consistency and creative excellence.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior content creators, supporting their professional development.
  • Act as a creative subject matter expert by sharing best practices, industry trends, and innovative content ideas with the team.
  • Maintain high editorial standards while encouraging experimentation and continuous improvement.


Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead assigned content projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Creative Manager to plan creative calendars, production schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Brand Partnerships, Marketing, and Commercial teams, to deliver integrated content campaigns.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and deadlines.

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, operational efficiency, and content quality.
  • Stay up to date with digital trends, platform algorithm changes, AI tools, and emerging content formats.
  • Recommend and implement new ideas, tools, and processes to enhance content production and audience engagement.
  • Contribute to the long-term growth and creative direction of TSL Malaysia's content ecosystem.

The successful candidate should have:

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 4–6 years of experience in digital creative creation, video production, or a similar creative role.
  • Proven ability to independently lead end-to-end creative production, from ideation to publishing.
  • Strong storytelling, scriptwriting, videography, and video editing skills (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience behaviour, content strategy, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively across teams, and provide guidance to junior creative creators.
  • Proactive, creative, and passionate about digital trends and creative innovation.

Nice to have

  • Experience in graphic design, motion graphics, AI-powered creative tools, or branded creative production.
