Business Support Lead

About the role:

The Business Support Lead plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and enabling the Business Development team to achieve commercial success. 


This role focuses on proposal leadership, backend coordination, process standardisation, and ensuring high-quality, consistent outputs. The successful candidate will contribute and drive client satisfaction and business growth through structured processes, accuracy, and timeliness. It also supports initiatives that enhance customer experience, strengthen engagement, and drive retention growth.


What you will do:

Proposal Management & Development

  • Lead and coordinate the proposal development process, driving structured, impactful submissions that enhance win rates and commercial outcomes.
  • Serve as the key PIC for proposals, managing end-to-end development from brief to final submission.
  • Consolidate inputs from cross-functional stakeholders (BD, Strategy, Operations, Finance) to ensure completeness and clarity.
  • Maintain proposal templates, case studies, and supporting materials to streamline turnaround time.
  • Conduct team training and ensure proposals align with company messaging, branding, and strategic objectives.

Backend Support for Business Development

  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Business Development team.
  • Coordinate internal workflows to ensure seamless preparation of commercial documentation.
  • Track project milestones, submissions, and follow-ups to maintain efficiency.
  • Maintain organised documentation and version control across all BD materials.

Commercial Documentation

  • Prepare and process Insertion Orders accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure alignment between approved proposals and commercial terms.
  • Liaise with Finance and relevant departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records for reporting, audit, and reference purposes.

Output Quality & Process Standardisation

  • Establish and maintain SOPs, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Drive consistency in structure, formatting, and presentation across all business outputs.
  • Identify workflow gaps and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Support reporting, dashboards, and tracking where required.

Customer Engagement & Retention Support

  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance customer experience, strengthen engagement, and drive retention growth.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate, professional, and delivered on time to support client satisfaction.
  • Support smooth handovers between BD and Operations teams.
  • Proactively address documentation or process gaps that could impact client experience.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in business support, sales operations, or proposal management.
  • Strong writing, structuring, and presentation development skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (PowerPoint and Excel essential).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
