Business Development Manager (Thailand)
About the role:
This position will be based in Thailand.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager for TSL Thailand to lead and drive our advertising revenue growth.
This role requires a strategic thinker passionate about the media industry, with a proven track record in building and maintaining high-value client relationships, driving end-to-end sales processes, and identifying new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industry trends, ability to manage cross-functional teams, and the skills to effectively represent our brand in the marketplace.
What you will do:
Drive individual sales responsibilities and revenue achievement
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies that align with the company's objectives and contribute to consistent revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including key accounts, to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. It involves understanding client needs, resolving complex issues, and ensuring that clients are satisfied and engaged with the company's services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base.
- Build a strong network of senior client contacts to demonstrate ownership of assigned Sales Verticals and Agencies.
- Drive and own the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting, negotiating, closing to renewals.
- Manage all individual sales processes and workflows, including working with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely sales reporting.
- Achieve assigned individual sales target.
- Achieve minimum sales engagements (calls and meetings).
Senior support to line manager/Management
- Support line manager (VP, Business Dev. (Regional)) / Management in senior sales/management duties, reporting needs etc., where required
- Drive certain senior level/key agency relationships and conversations, where required
- Drive certain internal stakeholder conversations/discussions, where required
- Any other adhoc support needed by line manager/management
Other responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge. This research helps in identifying new revenue streams, innovative approaches, and potential threats to the business.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration for pitches and lead all efforts during the pitch process.
- Ability to independently develop TSLMG Credentials presentation (with suitable case studies and demonstrate understanding of client's business) and confidently present to senior stakeholders.
- Drive education, adoption and advocacy of TSLMG's paid media solutions in the marketplace.
- Evangelize TSLMG's advertising offering in the marketplace by ensuring high visibility and top of mind awareness in advertisers/agencies/partners through regular and consistent trade engagements (media workshops, events, hospitality/networking sessions etc.)
- Hiring/training/onboarding/covering duties for own team members/hires, as and when required.
- Any other senior sales duties which may be assigned by line manager/management.
The successful candidate should have:
- At least 5 to 8 years of sales or business development experience in a similar industry with a proven track record.
- Excellent understanding of new media, digital publishing, content and social media industry.
- Strong negotiator with a commercial mindset.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting to senior-level executives and decision makers.
- Team spirit and ease in building strong professional relationships.
- Great people skills and able to work collaboratively and efficiently individually, in a team and across teams.
- Outstanding multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
- Native-level fluency in Thai and proficient written and spoken English language skills..
- Able to work independently and remotely at times.
- Positive attitude and being able to think out of the box.
