About your role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager for Advertising Sales to lead and drive our advertising revenue growth.
This role requires a strategic thinker passionate about the media industry, with a proven track record in building and maintaining high-value client relationships, driving end-to-end sales processes, and identifying new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industry trends, ability to manage cross-functional teams, and the skills to effectively represent our brand in the marketplace.
What you will do:
Drive individual sales responsibilities and revenue achievement:
- Execute effective sales strategies that align with the company's objectives and contribute to consistent revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including assigned key accounts, to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. This involves understanding client needs, resolving day-to-day issues, and ensuring clients are satisfied with the company's services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base.
- Actively develop a network of client contacts to demonstrate ownership of assigned Sales Verticals and Agencies.
- Drive the sales cycle from prospecting, negotiating, and closing to renewals.
- Manage individual sales processes and workflows, including working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely sales reporting.
- Achieve assigned individual sales targets.
- Achieve minimum sales engagements (calls and meetings).
Support to line manager/ Management:
- Assist the line manager and senior team members with reporting needs and administrative sales duties where required.
- Support conversations and relationships with key agencies and internal stakeholders under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Provide ad-hoc support as needed by the line manager or management.
Other responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to maintain a competitive edge and identify potential opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally for pitches and support pitch execution.
- Develop TSLMG Credentials presentations (with suitable case studies and demonstration of the client's business) and present to clients and stakeholders.
- Assist in promoting and advocating for TSLMG's paid media solutions in the marketplace.
- Support the visibility of TSLMG's advertising offering in the marketplace through regular attendance and participation in trade engagements (media workshops, events, hospitality/networking sessions, etc.).
- Assist in onboarding new team members or covering duties for team members as required.
- Perform other sales duties as assigned by the line manager or management.
A successful candidate should have:
- At least 5 years of sales or business development experience in a similar industry with a proven track record
- Excellent understanding of new media, digital publishing, content and social media industry
- Experience working with Singapore Government advertisers and agencies is highly preferred.
- Strong negotiator with a commercial mindset
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior-level executives and decision makers
- Great people skills, team spirit, have ease in building strong professional relationships and able to work collaboratively and efficiently individually, in and across teams
- Outstanding multi-tasking, analytical and problem-solving abilities, meticulous with a keen eye for detail
